i just watched laila harre and john (pussy) tamihere yacking with kim hill on men’s issues….
the over-riding impressions of this were how hill bent over backwards to accomodate tamihere, to the extent his mainly incoherent warblings dominated proceedings..and did the causes/issues he purported to represent no justice..
the visual image was one of a young boy sitting nervously sandwiched between the inquisitorial gazes of a couple of formidable aunties..trying to explain away/wriggle out of, some malfeasance..
they gave him his head, (they were over indulgent to a fault), and all he proved was that he didn’t have much to say, past a few slogans he repeated..the rest of the time he ran this victim/passive/aggressive gig..totally unimpressive…
(i reckon he’s coming to terms with the fact he’s dog tucker in the election, and it’s all over now baby blue..so i guess he has reasons to be prickly..)
on the other hand, seeing laila harres’ brain/mouth clicking over, made me realise what we lost when the alliance were swept out of parliament..
harre is a star, and the sooner she is back in parliament the better..
she addresses issues with lucidity and a fierce intelligence..and we need her there..
(harre gives good brain..eh?)
(harre is addressing the greens convention in christchurch this weekend..i’ll blog/link to, her speech when it’s thrown up on the website..)
