how/why labour lost..

helen clark made the biggest mistake of her political career when..in 2005..

..she entered into the relationship with peters/new zealand first/dunne..

..and left the greens at the alter..

..whereas she could have entered this election on the back of a strong labour/green administration..

..as it turns out..she was..like shipley before her..dragged down to defeat..in part..by the toxic albatross that was peters..

..the second biggest mistake of clarks’ political career was her decision to run this election solely looking to the future..

..and as a ‘trial’ of john key..

..yes..of course attacking key must have been a part of any labour campaign..

..but not as in this case..(which was the big mistake)..as the only component of their election campaign..

..(the logistics of that h-bomb cock-up were also eye-wateringly incompetently executed..

..that ‘bomb’ has been spoken of for months..why the fuck wasn’t it checked out..?

..way way back..?

..before the last weeks of the campaign..?..(!!)

..and williams’ surprise..on the telly last night..at clarks’ resignation..

..would have been closely followed by the realisation..that for him..

..it will soon also be..all over rover..eh..?..

..as i say..blinding incompetence such as that cannot be just ignored/forgotten..)

..in their deeply flawed election campaign/strategy..

..clark/labour virtually ignored their achievements..

..(and there are too many to list here..kiwi-etc. etc ..)

..they also failed in selling michael cullen as the person to guide us through the upcoming economic shit-storms..

..clark/labour..in their focus on key..also failed to expose the williamsons/smiths/mccullys..

..(and especially (the rabid) roger douglas..eh..?)

..to the voting public/punters..

..(we now have to rely on key to keep douglas at bay/tied up..oo-err..!)

..clark also failed/missed the ball on the environmental front..

..the ‘green’/environmental statistics/realities or/for her term of government are..dire..

..and tho’ clark/labour have done much to be lauded for..

..their environmental record must be coupled with the glaring failures of her/her administration to care for those in most need..

..it will be long to her/labours’ shame that she did not undo the gutting of the social welfare system undergone/done by the shipley model of national..

..and that she/labour..left so many of our poorest/most vulnerable..to just ‘rot”..

..(is to me..incomprehensible..)

..and the numbers of our children living in poverty that labour leave/did nothing for..

..blights/shames the record of the/this clark/labour government..

..(was she going ‘to do something about it’..this term..?..is perhaps the most charitable view to be taken..)

..labour will now have a new leader..

..some are saying goff..i’m saying cunliffe will have/get the numbers..

..and hopefully that generation change/clearing out of the old guard from labour..

..will see a period of self-examination..

..and a return to the ‘roots’ of the labour party..

..a party that would have addressed those poverty/environmental questions..

..as a top priority..

..and not so sorely abandoned their traditional mandate/duty..
