one of the main moans about the ‘new’ media..that you hear from the ‘old’ media..

(a media that..following the observation by/from jon stewart/daily show..i now refer to as the purveyors of ‘aged-news’..

..go on..!..test it..!

..pick up a copy of ‘todays’ newspaper..and all the news will be from/about yesterday…not today..

..a newspaper is just a re-packaging of aged-news..(to ‘sell’ shit/stuff..read:..’ads’..)

..into an environmentally-destroying/waste-removal problem..)

anyway..one of the sneers these dinosaurs..(driven by self-interest/patch-protecting)..throw at the now/on-line-only ‘new’ media..

..is that they..the ‘old’ media..have ‘reporters on the ground’..

now..let’s just pause for a mo’..to consider that..in say..the case of our local tree-chewing behemoth..the new zealand herald..

..an examination of any issue will reveal..aside from sports..not much evidence of the fruits of these reporters-on-the-ground..

..we get local ‘crash ‘n burn’ coverage..some ‘commentators’..

.and a totally inept/inadequate/inferior version of what i do..(scan..and aggregate the news from the rest of the planet..)

..i’ve said it before..and i’ll say it again…

..take any day..and compare the coverage of what’s important/matters..here at whoar…and at the new zealand herald..

..and marvel at how many people can expend so much energy..to produce the dismal/thin global offerings from the herald..

..that these excuses for a media were quite happy to just parrot the bullshit/lies .. about the state of our economy..

..from our political leaders..during the last election campaign..

..couldn’t be a bigger indictment of their general ineptitude/failings..

..that..and how they failed to heed/pass on the warnings about this global economic meltdown..

..warnings whoar has been passing on since august 2006…

..and that the herald seemed to become aware of..as they crashed over our shores..

(..and they continue to this day ..to under/mis-report the realitiies of what we all face..

cf..their ongoing unquestioning parroting of the various versions of ‘happy days will be here again..soon’..that are regularly trotted out..

..any regular reader of whoar will know the coverage of what we are all facing is far more comprehensive/’real’..albeit ‘grim’..

..than that offered by the aged-news/ad-purveyors..)

anyway..what set me off on this/these observations..is the link i am recommending you click..

..it is the live-blogging of the iran events from huffington post..

..that just totally pisses all over any coverage of this (possible revolution) from the aged-news-media..

..and brings into sharp focus..

..their lies in their claims of better coverage..’cos of ‘reporters on the ground’..

..and hey..!..won’t someone think of trees..?

..imagine how many (low-income) houses could be built..

if the wood (mis)-used to package this aged-news..from just one issue..

..was instead used for that ‘greener’ purpose..?
