“..New tourism industry head Martin Snedden says New Zealand should stick to promoting a clean, green image, despite controversy over the claims.

The former Rugby World Cup boss said the green image still remains an important point of difference for the $23 billion tourism industry.

Snedden said negative publicity overseas about New Zealand’s environmental record had dented faith in the 100 per cent Pure strategy – but he sensed that confidence was returning.

“I think it’s been through a cycle,” Sneddon said…”

(ed:..and i think seddon is just blowing it out his butt…and showing every sign of having no plans/ideas..

..and just promising more of the same…and more failure..

..and his main problem is social media…

..back in the good old days..a tightly-controlled media campaign could support that clean/green-fantasy..

..but now we have social media..with travellers constantly dismayed at how clean and green we ain’t…

..and taking pictures of it/the counter-evidence…and posting/discussing it on social media…

..so that reality says bye-bye to any thoughts/hopes of a revival in international-belief/acceptance that we are clean and green..

..(that horse has already well and truly bolted…)

..and of course the other main negative-new-zealand factor is how much we as a people are gouged/exploited by the elites that control our supplies of food/basics of life…

..those sobbing tourists you see on the streets of our towns/cities haven’t just received bad news from home…

..they have actually just had a new zealand supermarket-experience..

..and their tears are at the eye-watering-prices we are charged for the basics of life…

..this is also something discussed at length in/on social media…

..so..in summary…despite the huge amounts spent on glossy advertising-campaigns still trying to push that ‘clean/green’-chimera..

..the general buzz about new zealand online is that not only is we are not ‘clean and green’…

(far from it..look at these pics!’..they say/post..ew..!..)

..and that the high costs of food/basics..

..combined with the high costs/time-involved getting to and from here…

..mean we are nowhere near as appealing as snedden seems to be deluding himself we still are..

..and the disturbing thing is that snedden has just been appointed to head the tourism industry association…

..yet he does not seem to have any idea of these changes to message-control wrought by social media..

..and seems to just want to do more of the ‘clean/green’ same…

..and that way lies madness/defeat..
