disputed-claim:..the stuff website is running as their banner headline claims of research showing there is no relation between poverty/hunger – and low educational achievement..
..basically countering all the mood/drives to provide food in the poorest schoools..
..the headline/content trumpet this as a fact..
..and you have to dig deep down to find the following..
“..Ni Murchu said there was a chance her study did not capture the children who most needed the breakfasts.
“There’s always a risk that the kinds of people who participate are not the higher needs group.”
This was because her study participants had to get parental consent – and fill in a lengthy questionnaire –
- a process that may have alienated the high-needs families…”
ed:..’may’ have..?..really..?..only ‘may’?..
..these self-confessed epic-fails in connecting with the target-group pretty much consign these research ‘findings’ to the rubbish bin..
..how could they not..?
..and you would have to say that the stuff website has been fact-checked..
..and found to be wanting..
