(ed:..i will post a commentary at the close of proceedings..)

Questions to Ministers

1)..PHIL TWYFORD to the Minister for State Owned Enterprises: Does he have confidence in the board of KiwiRail?

brownlee is spinning like a ballerina…

..as twyford reads out a series of damning assessments of maintenance failures at kiwirail..

(the speaker wryly notes the number of actual/factual-lies told by m.p.’s..and how it would be impossible for him to correct them all..(!)..)

twyford is quoting from a document that the govt has taken out an injunction against a media-entity…blocking a radio station from publishing it..(!)..

..after brownlee calling repeatedly for twyford to produce the evidence of his allegations..twyford offers to table the injuncted-document/report..(national blocks them from doing that..)

..mallard then tries to table the executive-summary from the report..noting that brownlee had asked for that evidence..(national blocks them from doing that..)

2)..MAGGIE BARRY to the Minister of Finance: What reports has he received on the Canterbury economy and what effect will this have on the national economy?

3)..JACINDA ARDERN to the Minister for Social Development: Does she agree with the recommendation made by Every Child Counts in its Netherlands Study that national indicators of child well-being should be adopted so progress can be measured; if not, why not?

bennett admits there are children living in poverty..(but has no plans to fix that..save from ‘growing jobs’…)

..and says the country can’t afford to fix that poverty..(!)

(ed:..big tax cuts for the richest ?..anyone..?..y’know..!..those richest whose wealth rose astronomically in the last year..?…

..and no financial transaction tax..(which could fund an end to poverty..and more..)..because the banksters/richest ‘couldn’t afford it’..?

..and no capital gains tax..?..for the same reasons..?)

..bennett is very clear that she/this govt plans to do nothing to end child poverty..

(and ardern is doing a useful job of holding bennett to some account..)

4)..DAVID BENNETT to the Minister for ACC: What are the findings of reports released today by the Privacy Commissioner and the Auditor-General about a privacy breach and governance at ACC?

collins is spinning for a.c.c…

5)..Hon CLAYTON COSGROVE to the Minister for State Owned Enterprises: Is it still the Government’s intention for the first partial privatisation of an SOE to occur in the third quarter of this year; if not, why not?

cosgrove lists all the problems with the various entities the govt wants to privatise..

cosgrove is doing a good job of attacking the asset-sales…

..(those m.p.’s sitting behind english..(including that reptilian-shape-shifter who slithered over from auckland city council..)..are looking decidedly glum..
..their usual gloating-triumphalism stilled..)

6)..Dr RUSSEL NORMAN to the Minister of Finance: How much has Mighty River Power spent to date on preparing itself for “transition to the Mixed Ownership Model”?

english says the figure will be available next tuesday..

genesis..has spent $660,000 meridian has spent $562.000..(someone else spent $170,000)..mighty river power refused to provide the details..

english is still refusing to release the mighty river power details…saying ‘next tuesday’..

(english is making childish-allegations..norman is sensibly ignoring the slurs..)

7)..SCOTT SIMPSON to the Minister of Science and Innovation: What new investment is the Government making in science and research?

8)..Hon ANNETTE KING to the Minister of Housing: Does he stand by all his answers to parliamentary questions; if not, why not?

heatley is now claiming credit for the green party housing insulation scheme..

9)..IAN McKELVIE to the Associate Minister of Transport: What progress is being made on the Government review into transport rules affecting agricultural vehicles?

flashing orange lights for agricultural vehicles…

10)..EUGENIE SAGE to the Minister of Conservation: Is the financial viability of an applicant company a factor in the consideration of concession applications on conservation land; if not, why not?

monorail-promoters are part of failed property-comany pegasus…

11)..MELISSA LEE to the Minister for Social Development: What impact have the Government’s Future Focus welfare reforms had to date?

(bennett quotes mallards’ beneficiary-bashing-exercise..the one mallard posted on his facebook-page..(and then excised..but screenshots abound..)

12)..BARBARA STEWART to the Minister of Health: Is he satisfied that New Zealand’s maternity services are meeting all the needs of pregnant women in New Zealand; if not, why not?

..summary:..twyford/cosgrove/ardern all did well for labour….with twyford getting the gong for his resolute demolishion of brownlee…

..and norman introduced what looks like running-saga..namely the monies pissed up against walls ‘preparing’ the state assets for privatisation…

..and the mood of national could be summed-up as glum…(do they have some new polling..?..)

a 3/10 questiontime..
