“..Paperwork containing the personal details of beneficiaries was mistakenly given to a Work and Income client.

In the latest Social Development Ministry privacy blunder, a list of the full names of the beneficiaries, along with the type of benefit they were applying for, was handed to a Masterton woman last week.

The sensitive document appears to have been used as scrap paper by office staff – and featured a hand-written note between staff members.

The head of Work and Income has apologised, blaming “human error and poor judgment”..”
